Kris Garard has been painting professionally for more than 30 years. Rooted in vibrant color and shifting light of the natural world, her work reflects the immediacy of the outdoors and the abstract geometry of architectural forms found in homes, gardens, and built environments. Kris captures the fleeting effects of outdoor light and also creates deliberate compositions such as her still life work of flowers, fruit, glass, and ceramic art. Trained in classical Italian realism, Kris holds a degree in painting from the University of California, San Diego, while her postgraduate studies include work at the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute in Florence and the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center in Northern California.
